Emil Racovita Theoretical High school is a public school comprises 71 teachers and 1001 students: 29 classes of secondary school (age 11-19), Natural Sciences and Philology and 9 classes of post secondary school in Health Education (adult education). 99% of our students graduated. Most of them are admitted to universities or post secondary schools. A feature of our school is the large number of girls (66%). About 25% of our students descending from socially disadvantaged backgrounds (poor or mono-parental families, underdeveloped rural areas). Therefore, we intend to diversify our teaching methods to motivate them to study and continue their studies at a higher level and become good professionals in various fields in the labor market. We have 13 Rroma students and about 10% of our students have at least one parent working abroad. These students need more support from the school to avoid school dropout. Our school is fully equipped logistically: IT, physics, chemistry, biology laboratories. In our school there is a permanent concern for educational activities: cultural, artistic, sport, voluntary, environmental protection, and democratic citizenship. Through this project we would like to share and improve our experience in collaboration with museums. We want to reinforce the European dimension of our school through the active involvement of students in this new partnership. For our students it’s a opportunity to value the cultural differences between the European countries, to make new friends and to discover new ways to transfer the knowledge from school to real life. The key people will be a person from the Management Department and teachers that already took part in other European projects, Comenius or Erasmus. They are well aware of the responsibilities of an international project and they coordinated students during transnational mobility. For this project is a main coordinator and a vice-coordinator who can take over the responsibilities if necessary. Our school has an extensive experience in the development of local, regional and national partnerships. We have a privileged position, near the Museum of Natural Sciences and Botanical Garden and our students are engaged in many projects regarding biology and environmental issues. Due to the drop in students' interest in the study of the sciences, we have diversified the school offer. Our students are studying 21 optional subjects as "Terra-living planet", “Plants-source of health and beauty” and "On the traces of the past", in collaboration with the Museum of Natural Science and the History Museum in Galati. We collaborate closely with the Municipal Library for different events and activities. In 2016 a total of 12 teachers participated in training courses Erasmus+ KA1 in digital education and inclusive education. Two of them had the objective of acquiring skills in e-learning and mobile learning, aiming learning activities during excursions and visits to museums.
